|Morning After the Storm, ready for the diamonds to be quilted in a sea-grass design.|
Now I need to come up with a simple quilting design for the dark diamonds. I'm thinking wavy lines to represent seaweed or sea grass. I was going to do Seahorses on the vertically oriented diamonds. Andy found me a really neat stencil collection in a Dover Nature Stencils book, but this quilt is getting a little busier than I'd hoped. When is enough enough? I'll also quilt in some filler in the areas around the shells and the diamonds ... not too heavily. I don't want to flatten the surrounding areas as much as around the sea creatures ... just something wavy, loose, and sea-like.
I'm chomping at the bit to get to yet another UFO (unfinished fiber object, for any non-quilters braving my blog). It will be my Torrey Pines quilt, which I can't wait to show you. Hey, as always, peace (for quilters, piece) and love, and thanks for visiting and commenting.
