Design Wall Monday

I've almost finished Tropical Sundance! Just finished cutting out these border rectangles/squares, and I'm cogitating on their placement. For now, they're just smoothed onto the flannel design wall. Any suggestions?
Tropical Sundance, awaiting the border strips to be placed and sewn together. Please click on the quilt to see a larger image. And please, comment! :) I'd love your feedback.

Tina, the red is too bright in this photo for inclusion in the border unless you lighten up other pieces. A touch of the green or perhaps some lighter purple (like the 2nd square-not border-up from the bottom right corner) might work to make the red not be so overpowering. That's my two cents :)! Congratulations on your progress

Wow, love your trocical sunburst quilt! How colorful! Looking through my magic red colored plastic gauge (anything red will do) you can see the values of your fabric in the border better. I probably would move the orange square in the left corner further 1 or 2 blocks to the right. Does it make a real difference - probably not (but you asked...). Great job!

Actually - I like the brighter red but maybe not such a big hunk of it. I would use the red in smaller amounts scattered around the border as an accent color. LOVE LOVE LOVE this quilt. Its really somethin' special.

Wow! What great feedback all of you have given. I think I'll lighten up some of the other border blocks, and possibly reduce the size of that one huge red chunk. If you saw my home, you'd see that lighter, brighter colors will be more effective than darks. I think I'll sleep on it! :)
Hugs and love to all of you,
